Shane Rhoden Photography statement March 17, 2020
The COVID-19 virus has affected all of us, and we are all adapting in our own ways. Before anything else, people come first. We pride ourselves on the fact that customers know they can depend on us to be there for them to document important moments without fail—and that will continue. Our customers expect us to do our jobs without endangering their safety. So while we continue to process sessions and weddings, here are measures we are taking to make sure people are safe:
For years, we have taken measures to provide a clean environment for our customers. In our vehicles, we have placed disposable plastic over seats and floor mats that are replaced after each session. However, in the coming months, we will also begin sterilizing exterior and interior common touch surfaces, such as door handles, after each session. Additionally, when appropriate staff may wear medical gloves and face masks to limit contact and the possibility of transmitting any airborne particles.
Normally, there are few instances where myself and staff come in physical contact with customers outside of handshakes and assisting in posing. However, in the coming months, we will not make any physical contact. We understand a primary way to mitigate the possibility of transmitting the virus is by limiting unnecessary contact.
To protect those visiting us in person, customers will be asked to wear disposable shoe covers. After each meeting with a customer, common touch surfaces, such as keyboards, tables, and tablets, will be sterilized.
There is no question we are going to need to continue to innovate and evolve our methods to respond to this threat. Our prayers and gratitude go out to our nurses, doctors, first responders, and all public servants for their selfless actions to make sure we are all safe. We are currently unsure if the worst is behind us, but if we stand before the challenge with a never quit mentality—and act safely and smartly—we will come out stronger in the end.
